The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training develops education policy, oversees primary and secondary schools, manages scholarship and student assistance programmes, and provides continuing education and technical training for adults.

Schools and Placement: The ministry manages the public school system, administers the Common Entrance Examination and secondary school placement process, and coordinates teacher training. Eleven secondary schools and dozens of primary schools serve communities across Barbados.

Scholarships and Student Assistance: Scholarships for local and overseas tertiary education are available based on academic merit and financial need. Loans and grants are administered through the Student Assistance scheme. Application forms and deadlines are available online.

Vocational Training: The Barbados Community College offers technical certificates and diplomas in hospitality, construction, IT, healthcare, and skilled trades, with both full-time and evening programmes for working adults.
