Women of the West Indies Cricket Scene

Female cricketers hailing from the West Indies have emerged as formidable forces within the realm of international cricket. Their journey is a testament to not just their exceptional abilities but also their resilience and determination in a sport historically dominated by men. These athletes, rooted in a cricketing culture deeply ingrained in the Caribbean, have transcended barriers and shattered stereotypes, proving their prowess on the field knows no bounds.

In Barbados, we have produced a number of incredible female cricketers, from all-rounder and captain of the West Indies Women’s team Hayley Matthews to Deandra Dottin, the only woman ever in T20 cricket to score 2 centuries!
