South Africa To The Finals!
South Africa defeated Afghanistan by nine wickets in the first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024, reaching the final for the first time.
Afghanistan, opting to bat first, were bowled out for 56 in 11.5 overs at the Brian Lara Stadium. South Africa’s Tabraiz Shamsi and Marco Jansen took three wickets each, while Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje claimed two apiece.
Chasing 60, South Africa lost Quinton de Kock early but Reeza Hendricks (29 not out) and captain Aiden Markram (23 not out) secured the win in 8.5 overs.
South Africa will face the winner of the England vs. India semi-final at the iconic Kensington Oval in Barbados!
