Barbados Alliance to End Homelessness and the National Organising Committee for the T20 Cricket World Cup
The Barbados Alliance to End Homelessness (BAEH) collaborated with the Cricket World Cup’s Local Organising Committee to launch a project aimed at providing job opportunities for the homeless in Bridgetown.
The BAEH’s Bridgetown Cleaning Crew, comprised of over a dozen individuals, formerly homeless, now works to maintain the city during the ICC Men’s T20 tournament.
These workers are fully equipped and can be seen daily keeping Bridgetown clean. Kemar Saffrey of BAEH highlighted the inclusivity of the hiring process, emphasizing that all workers are paid and provided with credit union accounts, with potential job opportunities after the tournament.
