Three new state-of-the-art Scania Angloco fire tenders have arrived in Barbados and will soon be with the Barbados Fire Service (BFS). Chief Fire Officer Errol Maynard stated that these fire appliances, costing three million dollars, were ordered to replace 20-year-old tenders.

Fire officers will receive training from the manufacturer before the tenders are commissioned. One tender will go to the St. John Fire Station, replacing a recently destroyed tender, and the other two will be used in Bridgetown.

Minister of Home Affairs and Information, Wilfred Abrahams, inspected the new appliances and noted the lengthy process involved in acquiring them, as they are custom-built to specific requirements. He expressed gratitude to everyone involved in expediting their delivery.
