In a bid to promote environmental consciousness and beautify local communities, the official launch of the Parish Home Garden
Beautification Competition occurred yesterday. The competition, scheduled to run from May 10th to May 23rd, aims to recognize and reward the most beautifully maintained home or residential gardens across parishes.
During the launch event, the speaker highlighted that winners from each parish will be awarded a prize of fifteen hundred dollars. Subsequently, the top eleven winners will compete for a grand purse of ten thousand dollars, with the first-place winner receiving five thousand dollars, the second-place winner receiving three thousand dollars, and the third-place winner receiving two thousand dollars.
Interested participants were urged to dial a specific phone number, “234-3252” for registration and further information. Upon registering, participants will receive a message outlining the competition rules, guidelines, and judging criteria. Notable rules include providing a name, address, and location of their garden, along with a maximum of three garden photos for submission.
The speaker emphasized the positive impact of gardening on individuals, the environment, and climate change, echoing the sentiments shared by the Minister. Participants were encouraged to tap into their green thumb, register for the competition, and contribute to environmental conservation efforts.
The competition promises to not only showcase the creativity and dedication of gardening enthusiasts but also foster a sense of community pride and environmental stewardship. With generous prizes at stake, the Parish Home Garden Beautification Competition is set to inspire residents to cultivate their gardens and make a positive impact on their surroundings.
