T20 World Cup stars make rankings rise on eve of tournament

The latest update of the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup reflects significant movements for players from Pakistan, West Indies, and England.

In England’s series against Pakistan, Jos Buttler climbed to seventh place in the T20I batter rankings after his impressive innings of 84, while Jonny Bairstow rose to 36th position following his knock of 21.

Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman, who top-scored for his team in the same match with 45 runs off 21 balls, advanced six places to 51st in the rankings.

From the West Indies, Brandon King, Johnson Charles, and Kyle Mayers saw significant improvements in their T20I batter rankings after their performances in the series against South Africa. King moved up five places to eighth, Charles rose 17 places to 20th, and Mayers climbed 12 spots to 31st.

Gudakesh Motie, who was named Player of the Series for his eight wickets against South Africa, made a remarkable leap in the T20I bowler rankings, soaring from outside the top 100 to 27th place overall.
